PTSD Is An Approved Condition For Medical Cannabis
Many of the legal medical marijuana provinces in Canada, such as Ontario, have PTSD listed as an approved condition for medical cannabis. While there has yet to be a large-scale clinical trial, the results are promising.
Recent clinical research has supported the positive effects cannabis has with reduced PTSD symptoms.
Apollo has served many Canadian Veterans who suffer from PTSD and we look forward to ensuring you are taken care of with the utmost respect.

Many PTSD patients report symptom reduction with cannabis, and a clinical trial needs to be done to see what proportion and what kind of PTSD patients benefit, with either cannabis or the main active ingredients of cannabis,” said Dr. George Greer, one of the researchers.
Because of the increased knowledge surrounding medical marijuana for veterans and its effects on anxiety and depression, there is a growing group of veterans using medical marijuana to treat their PTSD symptoms to better help them cope with life after conflict.
Typical PTSD Treatments
Counselling, medication and support groups are all viable and effective means of treating PTSD. Depending on the person and the frequency of their symptoms, one method may prove more effective than another.
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT):
is an effective form of counselling that helps people with PTSD understand their trauma and how to manage and cope with the stress by mitigating the symptoms.
involves those closest to the person affected by PTSD learning more about what they are going through. It can help communication and strengthen the bond to help one another get through the difficult time.
similar to family therapy, only it involves other people dealing with PTSD. These groups can help when sharing experiences and know that there are others coping with the same symptoms.
