How Do I Buy Cannabis in Toronto
In order to buy medical cannabis, a doctor is required to provide a valid prescription (medical document) to a Licensed Producer which outlines your prescribed daily dose. A patient is not permitted to purchase medical cannabis until they have registered with one, or several, Licensed Producers (LP’s).
All orders through Licensed Producers are completed online utilizing online payment methods such as debit or credit card. All orders are discreetly shipped to a patient’s door and do not require the patient to pick up a prescription.
Patient recommendations will include the patient name and dosage instructions, as well as list THC and CBD content of each product. Licensed Producers offer a wide range of products tailored to medical needs.
Medical vs. Recreational Cannabis
Product availability is one of the biggest differences between medical and recreational cannabis. Licensed Producers are able to offer a wide array of products including cannabis oil, CBD products, and decarboxylated flowers for oral consumption. These products are in shorter supply on the recreational market.
In Ontario, recreational cannabis may be consumed anywhere tobacco is permitted. Despite this provincial law, many municipalities and buildings located on private property are instituting laws that disallow cannabis consumption where tobacco may be consumed.
Medical cannabis users have the right to consume cannabis wherever tobacco is permitted, regardless of private or municipal consumption laws. Medical users are allowed far more leeway when it comes to public consumption as they must be able to medicate when needed.
