The laws created by the government regulating Medical Cannabis are controlled by Bill C-45, also known as The Cannabis Act. Prior to October 17th 2018, medical cannabis was regulated under the ACMPR also called, Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations, which has since been absorbed/replaced by The Cannabis Act. These regulations are Canada wide and do not differ between provinces and/or territories. Once you have obtained a legal prescription, you can fill it either online or by phone.

Medical cannabis has two main medicinal compounds (also known as cannabinoids), THC and CBD. While both cannabinoids have medicinal value, they are very different from one another.
